Our Mission

Our mission is to provide exceptional theater arts education to children in Ellis and surrounding counties. We invite children, grades K-12, into a world of imaginative expression resulting in expanding positive thinking.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Ellis County Children’s Theater (ECCT) is a vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through theater arts education. Founded in 2008 by Gail Stutts Harrell, ECCT serves as a creative outlet and educational resource for children across Ellis, Navarro, Dallas, and Tarrant counties. With a mission to foster imaginative expression and positive thinking, ECCT offers year-round classes and several annual productions, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. The theater relies on the generosity of the community to cover various expenses, including royalties, salaries, and production cost, which can range significantly depending on the performance. By contributing to ECCT, you can provide invaluable support, such as tuition scholarships, production funding, or equipment purchases. Your support not only helps children in need but also sustains the growth of this essential arts program, while offering benefits like increase business visibility and season passes to ECCT productions. Join us in nurturing the next generations of creative thinkers and performers.

Our Offerings

Year-round classes and three to four major productions are available to all students regardless of socio-economic background, ethnicity, or physical ability. Our instructors are Texas certified teachers and professional directors.

• Provide tuition scholarships for children in need

• Assist with production costs

• Provide a permanent rehearsal & performance venue

• Offer venue opportunities for rehearsal and performances

• Offset the cost of printing, marketing, and publicity

• Purchase equipment such as computers, copiers, microphones, stage lighting, etc.

• Contribute to productions costs such as costumes, set pieces, lumber, etc.

Our Audience

More than 300 children participate in ECCT production and classes. We reach and serve students and their families in Ellis, Navarro, Tarrant, and Dallas counties. Our typical audience attendance is 200 to 400 people per performance. Our social media presence is engaging and interacts with hundreds of community members.
